Editing and Proofreading

My passion is helping authors produce their best book—a piece of art you can be proud of. I’m here for all your editing and proofreading needs! For ongoing or large projects, I am happy to negotiate rates.

Produce Your Best Novel with Expert Help

I have a decade of experience as a professional writer, editor, and book mentor. But long before I made this career shift, I was editing term papers for pizza and beer. I’ve had a lifelong passion for grammar, syntax, and story structure.

Indie Authors Are the Future

I work almost exclusively with indie authors. Self-publishing allows us to retain creative control, and as your editor, it’s my job to improve your writing while honoring your unique voice. However, you can expect advice on marketability and trends within your edits.

Testimonials

“Krystal Craiker has been a wonderful mentor to me in my writing journey. I met her as I went through a three month writing training. I loved the feedback she gave me when we met once or twice a month, so I asked her to be my editor for books 2 and 3 of my romantic suspense series. I am thankful for her honesty in areas that I needed to work on, both in my revision journey as well as how to navigate the many facets of being a self-published author. Small things like free book promotions and how to promote my books and my author style on Amazon and Ingram Spark have been tools that I am so thankful for. It's also great to hear good things that you are doing and Krystal is great at telling you your strengths. If you are looking for an editor your writing or authoring journey, Krystal is a wonderful person to help guide you along.” —Liz Hamilton

“As a proofreader, Krystal’s work is impeccable. She has proofread my last four romance novels and I plan to have her proofread any new novels I create.

As a developmental editor Krystal’s feedback is spot on.  She worked with me as my developmental editor for all four books of my Louisiana L’Amour series. My writing improved with every book thanks to her.  She is a pro at spotting the strengths and weaknesses in any manuscript.

My only issue with writing this testimonial is I don’t want her to get so many new clients that she can’t squeeze me into her schedule. But I guess I’ll be the better person and write it anyway.” —Gigi Hodge
